The Little Egypt Amateur Radio Society is the Amatuer
Radio Club of the Benton, Illinois
area. We currently meet on the second Tuesday of each
month at 6:30 pm, at the Franklin
Hospital in Benton [map]. Visitors are always

Our
VHF repeater is located at the Southern end of Rend
Lake, just outside
of Benton IL
on the frequency pairs of 146.8050 / 146.2050 MHz with
a required PL tone of 88.5.
We
conduct our weekly Net Meetings on the LEARS VHF repeater
every Monday evening beginning at 9:00 pm. All licensed
amateurs are welcome and encouraged to check in. A current

 Looking
to obtain your amateur radio license or upgrade your
license class? The current amateur radio test question
pools (with answers) for all three classes can be downloaded
in PDF format below.
TESTING:
LEARS
is now holding VE Testing. Testing sessions will be
held every even month thoughout 2009.The first testing
session will be Dec. 9th 2008. Test sessions will be
held at the Franklin Hospital on the same nights that
we hold our monthly meeting. For a lis of times and

The
LEARS Club will be holding a 8 week long General class
at the Benton Public Library at 5:30pm. Starting Feb.
4th, 11th, 18th & 25th and March 4th, 11th, 18th
& the test on the 25th. Jason KF9CZ will be teaching
the class.
